Delegation of the Moscow Region State University and Prof. Dr. Predrag Ćeranić Visit the University of Criminal Investigation and Police Studies
Between August 25 and August 27, 2021, a delegation from the Faculty of Security of the Moscow Region State University (MGOU) visited the University of Criminal Investigation and Police Studies (UCIPS). The delegation consisted of Asst. Prof. Dr. Elena Priorova, Head of Department, and Asst. Prof. Dr. German Priorov, Vice-Dean for Science.
On Wednesday, August 25, a meeting was held with the leadership of the University of Criminal Investigation and Police Studies, attended by Prof. Dr. Dane Subošić, Rector; Prof. Dr. Saša Mijalković, Vice-Rector for International and Inter-institutional Cooperation; Prof. Dr. Predrag Ćeranić, Dean of the Faculty of Security Sciences of the University of Banja Luka; and Vuk Kulić, Professional Associate.
Prof. Dr. Dane Subošić welcomed the guests and expressed his satisfaction with their visit. He presented the organizational structure of the University, the levels of study and the teaching process, forms of practice and training, scientific research work, and publishing activities.
Asst. Prof. Dr. Elena Priorova expressed her gratitude for the invitation and emphasized the importance of establishing strong relations between the two institutions, both in terms of organizing joint conferences and roundtables, and developing models for implementing joint curricula.
Prof. Dr. Saša Mijalković presented the history of the development of police education in Serbia, the University’s international and inter-institutional cooperation activities, and opportunities for financing scientific work through internal, national, and international projects. He provided further details on the “Natural Disaster Security Risk Management” study program, which resulted from the Erasmus+ NatRisk project, as well as the program submitted for accreditation titled “National Security.” He expressed a desire for the exchange of scientific and textbook publications, as well as mutual visits and activities involving students, faculty, and staff from both universities.
Prof. Dr. Predrag Ćeranić expressed his pleasure at mediating the initial contact between the two parties and stated his readiness for all forms of trilateral activities.
An Agreement on International Cooperation in the Field of Education and Science was formally signed between the two universities, followed by an exchange of gifts. Afterwards, the guests visited the “Dr. Archibald Reiss” Memorial Room, the exhibition on the history of criminology, the Library, the Emergency Situations Cabinet, the Center for Criminology and Police Profession Development, forensics cabinets, and students in training. On the second day of the visit, the Russian delegation visited the Nikola Tesla Museum, the Church of Saint Sava, the Museum of Contemporary Art, and the Kalemegdan Fortress.
The cooperation between the University of Criminal Investigation and Police Studies and the Moscow Region State University will continue in the coming period in accordance with the signed Agreement.
