Psychologist Maja Zimonja Delivers Lecture on the Personality of the Juvenile Delinquent

On November 4, 2025, graduate psychologist Maja Zimonja held a lecture for second-year students of the Faculty of Security Sciences on the topic “The Personality of the Juvenile Delinquent.” The lecture was conducted within the framework of the “Juvenile Delinquency” course.

Graduate psychologist Maja Zimonja is employed at the Department of the Educational-Correctional Home of the Penal-Correctional Institute Banja Luka.

During the presentation, she introduced the students to the work of the Department of the Educational-Correctional Home of the Penal-Correctional Institute Banja Luka, and acquainted them with the provisions of the Law on the Protection and Treatment of Children and Juveniles in Criminal Proceedings of the Republic of Srpska and relevant bylaws.

She also familiarized them with the procedure for the admission of juveniles and their placement in the Department of the Educational-Correctional Home, as well as activities regarding the maintenance and improvement of family relations, education and vocational training, work engagement, organization of leisure time, preservation of the physical and mental health of juveniles, as well as release planning.

She shared her professional experiences with the students, pointing out the challenges involved in working with juvenile delinquents.
