The Role of the RS MoI Women’s Network in Preventing Gender-Based Violence
On December 10, 2024, at 12:00 PM, within the framework of the “16 Days of Activism Against Gender-Based Violence” campaign, Željka Mileusnić (Assistant Commander for Legality of Work, Special Anti-Terrorist Unit) held a lecture/workshop for students of the Faculty of Security Sciences on the topic: “The Significance of the Women’s Network of the RS MoI – RS WPON in Strengthening the Role of Women in the Security Sector and Preventing and Combating Gender-Based Violence.”
The activity was implemented within the UNIGEM project.
On this occasion, students received information about the mission, vision, and activities of the Women’s Network of the RS MoI (RS WPON) regarding the strengthening of the role of women in the security sector, as well as the prevention and combating of domestic violence and other forms of violence against marginalized groups.
Additionally, students had the opportunity to acquire knowledge and skills regarding the importance and application of introduced legal mechanisms such as risk assessment, emergency protection measures, and protective measures.
Through an interactive discussion, examples from practice were presented, specifically the actions taken by protection agencies and the judicial outcomes of the cases in question.
