The seventh anniversary of the successful work of the Faculty of Security Science

On March 8, 2024, the Faculty of Security Science celebrated its seventh anniversary of successful work and development with a formal academy and awarding of diplomas to graduated students.

In addition to graduates, employees and students, the rector Dr. Radoslav Gajanin, Minister of Science and Technology Development, Higher Education and Information Society of the Republic of Srpska Dr. Željko Budimir, representative of the President of Srpska Nina Sajić, Consul of Serbia in Srpska Miloš Vujić and representatives of institutions in the fields of science, culture and sports.

The program was opened by the orchestra of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Srpska by singing the anthem “My Republic” and “Hymn to Saint Sava”.

In his welcoming speech, the dean Dr. Predrag Ćeranić spoke about the development path of the Faculty in the past seven years, stressing that our teachers and associates pay special attention to pedagogical work with students. Ćeranić referred to the implementation of the joint study program with partners from the Russian Federation, the crown of which is the awarding of diplomas to graduated students in June 2024. The Dean thanked the individuals and institutions that helped establish, work and develop the Faculty.

Rector addressed the guests on behalf of the Rectorate of the University of Banja Luka. Dr. Radoslav Gajanin: “As vice-rector, and later rector of the University, I participated and followed the development of the Faculty of Security Science and I see progress. We will continue to work on improving the working conditions and strengthening the Faculty’s personnel. We will continue the practice of hiring the best students. We insist that they be students holding the Golden Badge of the University”. Gajanin acknowledged the Faculty for initiating cooperation with partners from the Russian Federation and praised the volume of publishing activity in the past year.

The Minister of Science and Technology Development, Higher Education and Information Society of Srpska, Dr. Željko Budimir, said that the current challenges at the global level are of a security nature and that the study of that area at the University of Banja Luka is of great importance for the Srpska. He emphasized that a special war is currently being waged against Srpska, in which we need allies in order to defend against hybrid operations. “I will help the University as long as I am a minister,” said Budimir.

In the continuation of the academy, Dean Ćeranić awarded cash prizes to the best graduated students: Milica Hrvač (500 KM), Slavojka Malešević (300 KM) and Ivan Lažetić (200 KM).

The program continued with the awarding of recognition and awards to deserving individuals and organizations.

The Charter of the Faculty was presented to Minister Budimir for his contribution and assistance in the development of FSS.

Faculty employees Dr. Dražen Miljić and Snježana Kecman were presented with plaques for successful work in 2023.

Acknowledgments were presented to the vice-rector for teaching and student affairs, prof. Milica Balaban, Ph.D., to the head of the Administration for the Security of Persons and Facilities in the MUP of Srpska, Borislav Šarić, to the Minister of Justice and Administration in Canton 10 of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Aleksandar Rodić, prof. Dr. Dragan Mladjan from the University of Criminalistics and Police in Belgrade, assistant professor Dr. Dragiša Jurišić, TRB Bratunac and the Agency for Forensic Examinations and Expertises.

The formal academy program was closed with the promotion of fifty-five graduated students of the first and second cycle of studies.

The formal academy was closed with the song “Veseli se srpski rode”.

The socializing of the guests continued in the criminal investigation office with a cocktail and catering.
