Workshop – Faculty of Security Sciences

On April 9, the Faculty of Security Sciences held a workshop for students from other faculties of the University of Banja Luka.

With the aim of authentically showcasing the diversity and responsibility of the professions for which we prepare students at the Faculty of Security Sciences, we presented activities at three workstations:

  • Airsoft Cabinet: Attitude towards weapons, handling rules, and weapon manipulation, allowing participants to feel the power and responsibility this object holds for its bearer.

  • Laboratory: What happens behind the closed doors where white coats are worn? We shared with the workshop participants the process of developing latent fingerprints, analyzing projectiles and their components, microscopic analysis of traces from a crime scene, and the creation of facial composites.

  • Situation Room: And what happens when a crime is committed? Through a demonstration exercise, our colleagues illustrated how various officials (police, prosecutors, inspectors, and forensic technicians) proceed when there is suspicion that a criminal offense or misdemeanor has occurred.

The workshop was held as part of the “University of Banja Luka Student Days” event, organized by the Student Parliament of the University of Banja Luka and the Student Union of the Republic of Srpska, with the support of the University of Banja Luka and the Ministry for Scientific and Technological Development and Higher Education of the Republic of Srpska.
