Faculty of Security Sciences Defends Title at “Policijada 2023”

The 16th annual sports games for employees of the Ministry of Interior of Srpska, “Policijada 2023,” were held last weekend at the Training Center in Zalužani. Participants competed in cross-country running, judo, karate, shooting, 3×3 basketball, futsal, volleyball, and table tennis.

This year’s competition was the largest to date, featuring 738 competitors divided into 25 teams from the Ministry’s organizational units and a team from the Faculty of Security Sciences (43 competitors). The event began with a formal lineup of the participants and a welcoming speech by Minister Dr. Siniša Karan.

In a highly competitive environment, our students won three golds and one bronze in team events, along with numerous individual medals, making the Faculty the overall champion of “Policijada” for the second consecutive year.

Gold medals were won by our women’s volleyball team, the cross-country team, and the swimmers, while our judoka secured third place in a tough field featuring members of the SAJ and the Gendarmerie. With a total of 53 points, the Faculty of Security Sciences emerged as the dominant winner of “Policijada 2023.” The runner-up team (PU Bijeljina) finished with 46 points.

  • Volleyball (W): Gold Medal – Coach: Milica Sikimić, MA

  • Cross-country (Mixed): Gold Medal – Coach: Lazar Vulin

  • Swimming (Mixed): Gold Medal – Coach: Asst. Prof. Dr. Saša Mićin

  • Judo (M): Bronze Medal – Coach: Prof. Dr. Darko Paspalj

In futsal, the FBN team took 4th place, while improved results compared to last year were achieved in shooting, basketball, and table tennis. The Coordinator of the Faculty team was Prof. Dr. Darko Paspalj.

Individual Medals:

  • Judo: Igor Đurica – Gold (-71kg), Božidar Vučurević – Gold (-90kg)

  • Swimming: Lidia Ćurlić – Gold, Neda Kosić – Silver

  • Cross-country: Dajana Ivanković – Silver, Ivana Rašović – Bronze
