Srpska celebrates 30th birthday: Students of the Faculty of Security Science are part of the ceremonial parade
The central manifestation of the celebration of the Day of the Republic of Srpska was held today on the Krajina Square in Banja Luka.
One hundred students of the Faculty of Security Science, divided into two echelons, participated in the ceremonial parade.
The largest number of participants so far, 2,800 of them, paraded through Krajina Square, divided into echelons of the civil and government sectors.
This is the fifth ceremonial parade and the fourth in which the students of the Faculty participate.
The parade was preceded by the holy liturgy and the breaking of the feast cake in the Church of Christ the Savior in Banja Luka, on the occasion of the celebration of the baptismal feast of the Republic of Srpska, St. Archdeacon Stefan.
The celebrations of Srpska Day were attended by His Holiness Patriarch of Serbs Mr. Porfirije, President of Republic of Srpska Zeljka Cvijanovic, Serbs member of the Presidency of BiH Milorad Dodik, Prime Minister of Serbia Ana Brnabic, numerous guests from Srpska and abroad and citizens from all over Republic of Srpska.
Tonight, fireworks will be set off on the plateau in front of the Palace of the Republic with a concert by the Police Orchestra of the Ministry of the Interior of Srpska.
The Republic of Srpska was formed on January 9, 1992, by a decision of the Assembly of the Serb People in Bosnia and Herzegovina. It achieved international recognition with the General Framework Agreement for Peace in Bosnia and Herzegovina signed on November 21, 1995.
