University of Banja Luka Marked 46 Years of Work and Development
On 7 November 2021, the University of Banja Luka marked 46 years of successful work and development with solemn academy in the Banski dvor Cultural Centre.
Rector of the University of Banja Luka Prof. Radoslav Gajanin, PhD, states that the University has grown and developed in the past 46 years, and that experts who are educated at our higher education institution transfer their knowledge to all parts of the world.
,,Although a difficult year is behind us, we managed to cope with all the challenges faced, and despite the pandemic, we preserved the teaching and teaching process, and successfully completed one and started the next academic year, and all other obligations are being diligently fulfilled.“, the rector said and pointed out that the University, with the support of the Government of the Republic of Srpska and the relevant ministries, is to start with capital investments in the University Campus.
He said that more students enrolled this year compared to last year due to the proper enrolment policy, and reminded that professors and teaching assistants of the University of Banja Luka publish their works in international journals, and that the number of publications is increasing every year.
The Minister of Scientific and Technological Development, Higher Education and Information Society of the
Republic of Srpska, Srđan Rajčević, MA, presented a plan to finally establish a university campus in Banja Luka, which would provide the basis for establishing a science and technology park, the first of its kind in the Republic of Srpska and BH.
Rajčević said that the capital investments that the Government of Srpska invests in the University of Banja Luka are aimed at further modernizing the University and adapting it to European and world academic trends.
,,We have a plan to create and finally establish a university campus here, and have all members of the University of Banja Luka located in the current campus“, Rajčević said.
Student of the generation of the Faculty of Electrical Engineering at the University of Banja Luka with the grade point average of 10.0 Bojan Derajić said that he finds the gold badge with the image of Nikola Tesla that he received a kind of recognition for his work and effort so far.
During the ceremony in ’Banski dvor’, Rector Gajanin also presented charter awards and plaques to individuals who have contributed with their work and dedication to the development of the University. The plaque of the University was assigned to: Senior Assistant at the Faculty of Architecture, Civil Engineering and Geodesy Nebojša Đurić, MA, full professor of the Academy of Arts Mladen Miljanović, MA, and full professor of the Faculty of Law Marko Rajčević. The charter award was assigned to the dean of the Faculty of Natural Sciences and Mathematics Prof. Goran Trbić, PhD, the dean of the Faculty of Medicine Prof. Ranko Škrbić, PhD, Minister of Finance of the Republic of Srpska Zora Vidović, Minister of Agriculture, Forestry and Water Management of the Republic of Srpska Prof. Boris Pašalić, PhD, and Minister of Scientific and Technological Development, Higher Education and Information Society of the Republic of Srpska Srđan Rajčević, MA. The solemn academy was attended by numerous guests from the academic community and public life, and students, professors and teaching assistants of the Academy of Arts of the University of Banja Luka performed in the art programme.
