Archimandrite Teofil Dimitrić, Abbot of Osovica Monastery – “Saint Sava and Saint Savism” – VIDEO
Saint Sava (c. 1175–1235), born as Prince Rastko Nemanjić, is the most significant spiritual and cultural figure in Serbian history. As a monk and diplomat, he founded the Serbian Orthodox Church by acquiring autocephaly in 1219 and laid the foundations of Serbian spirituality, statehood, and cultural identity.
The lecturer, Archimandrite Teofil Dimitrić, Abbot of Osovica Monastery and a doctoral candidate at the University in Moscow, is the author of several books and an active figure in spiritual and humanitarian life.
He particularly distinguished himself through the restoration of Osovica Monastery and the founding of the Orthodox humanitarian organization “Serbian Gathering Baštionik” (Srbsko sabranje Baštionik).
