From Ararat to Elbrus: A New Mountaineering Challenge for Student Vanesa Vučić
Vanesa Vučić, a third-year student at the Faculty of Security Sciences of the University of Banja Luka, is preparing to conquer Elbrus, the highest peak in Europe and Russia. The thirteen-member expedition will embark on this journey on July 20 from Banja Luka. From Belgrade, they will fly to Istanbul, and then proceed to Russia.
Last year, from August 3 to August 10, Vanesa successfully completed a challenging ascent of Turkey’s highest peak, Mount Ararat. This expedition, which included summiting “Ağri Dağı” at an altitude of 5,137 meters, was a significant undertaking for our student and her team.
Elbrus (Russian: Эльбрус) is an extinct volcano in the Caucasus Mountains, whose western peak (West Elbrus), standing at 5,642 meters, represents the highest peak in Europe and Russia.
Let us wish our Vanesa a safe journey and success in conquering these mountain peaks.
