Promotion of the First Electronic Book of the Faculty of Security Sciences Held

On November 14, 2024, the Faculty of Security Sciences of the University of Banja Luka held the promotion of its first book in an electronic edition, titled “Exercises Supported by Computer Simulations in the Training of Protection and Rescue Forces” (Vježbe podржане рачунарским симулацијама у обуци снага и заштите спасавања).

The book is the result of long-term work by authors Dragiša Jurišić and Goran Maksimović, and the promotion was held in the Small Hall of the Academy of Sciences and Arts of the Republic of Srpska (ANURS).

During the event, the authors themselves, Prof. Dr. Dragiša Jurišić and Dr. Goran Maksimović, addressed the attendees and guests, highlighting the significance of the book in the context of training protection and rescue forces.

Speaking on behalf of the publisher, the Faculty of Security Sciences of the University of Banja Luka, Prof. Dr. Saša Mićin emphasized the importance of applying computer simulations in modern training and education within this sector.

The authors pointed out that the book represents an important step towards improving the protection and rescue system in the Republic of Srpska and beyond. They expressed hope that it would encourage the Republic Administration of Civil Protection, as well as local self-government units, to turn towards the future and utilize modern technologies to improve security capacities.

“This book is not just a theoretical work, but a practical guide for the application of computer simulations in training, representing an innovation that can significantly contribute to the improvement of training in the protection and rescue sector,” the authors stated.
