Screening of the documentary film “Garavice”: Wednesday, March 6, 2024
In amritheatre 216 at the Faculty of Philosophy of the University of Banja Luka, on Wednesday, March 6, 2024, from 2:00 p.m., the documentary film “Garavice” will be shown.
The film tells the story of one of the largest execution sites of the Serbian people in the NDH during the Second World War and explains the consequences that followed the mass liquidations of Serbs in Garavice and other mass execution sites in the Bihac region: Durdžića Gaj, Macine Dolove, Šuma Osoje, Delića Jama, Poljice, Mehino. Stanje, Crno Jezero, Risovo Greda, Zdena Do and other dumping grounds in villages, houses, churches and mills.
“Garavice” is based on more than three thousand documents (court verdicts, hearings, minutes, reports, declarations, etc.) and the living words of 27 surviving witnesses, 15 of whom speak in the film.
The film “Garavice” and the book “Korana ko rana” are author’s ventures of the Forgotten Roots Foundation.
