Republic of Srpska Day: Faculty Students Part of the Ceremonial Parade
The ceremonial parade celebrating the 32nd birthday of the Republic of Srpska was held on January 9 at Krajina Square in Banja Luka.
Earlier, the Holy Hierarchal Liturgy, led by His Holiness Serbian Patriarch Porfirije, was served at the Cathedral Church of Christ the Saviour in Banja Luka. At 10:00 AM, wreaths were laid at the Mali Zejtinlik Serbian military memorial cemetery in Sokolac. At 12:00 PM, decorations were awarded to deserving institutions and individuals at the Banski Dvor Cultural Center.
The parade began at 5:00 PM.
Eighty students of the Faculty of Security Sciences, divided into two echelons, participated in the parade carrying the Faculty’s banner. This is the seventh ceremonial parade in total and the sixth in which students of the Faculty of Security Sciences have participated. Watch the video HERE.
A total of 3,400 participants took part in the parade: 55 civilian, 14 police, and eight motorized echelons, along with one flag platoon.
The Republic of Srpska was established on January 9, 1992, by the decision of the Assembly of the Serbian People in Bosnia and Herzegovina. It endured through a heroic struggle for survival from 1992 to 1995. It achieved international recognition through the General Framework Agreement for Peace in Bosnia and Herzegovina, signed on November 21, 1995.
