Visit by Professors from the Ludovika University of Public Service (Hungary) to the Faculty of Security Sciences, University of Banja Luka
The Faculty of Security Sciences of the University of Banja Luka had the honor of hosting professors from the Faculty of Law Enforcement of the Ludovika University of Public Service (Hungary) on December 16, 2025. They delivered guest lectures as part of the “Terrorism” course.
Students followed the presentations with great interest. Associate Professor Dr. Szabolcs Mátyás spoke on the topic “Predictive Policing in Hungary with Special Reference to Terrorism and Violent Extremism,” and Associate Professor Dr. Tamás Kovács delivered a lecture on “Terrorism in the Middle East.”
The lecture by Associate Professor Dr. Johanna Farkas on the topic “Terrorism and Radicalization – A Psychological Perspective” also attracted special attention.
The lectures resulted in a fruitful and dynamic discussion, during which students actively participated, asked questions, and exchanged opinions with the visiting professors.
In addition to teaching activities, Dr. Johanna Farkas also gave a presentation on the CEEPUS academic network, for which she serves as a coordinator representing Ludovika University in the fields of security, criminalistics, and psychology. On this occasion, the inclusion of the Faculty of Security Sciences in this academic network was announced, which will enable the exchange of students, as well as academic and administrative staff.
This visit represents a significant step towards strengthening international cooperation and improving the quality of teaching and scientific research work at the Faculty of Security Sciences of the University of Banja Luka.
