Saša Jojić Holds Lecture on the Role of the Forensics Unit – Forensic-Technical Center of the MoI RS in Solving Criminal Offenses

On April 28, 2025, Saša Jojić, Head of the Forensics Unit – Forensic-Technical Center of the Ministry of the Interior of the Republic of Srpska, held a lecture for students of the Faculty of Security Sciences, during which he presented the significance and scope of forensic expertise within criminal investigations. The lecture highlighted the importance of familiarizing students training for careers in police and security structures with the types and methods of expertise conducted within the Ministry of the Interior of the Republic of Srpska.

Special attention was dedicated to topics such as narcotics abuse, the use of firearms, document forgery, as well as handwriting and signature analysis. The Forensics Unit – KTC is accredited by the Institute for Accreditation of BiH, in accordance with the international standard BAS EN ISO/IEC 17025:2018.

Currently, two methods are accredited in the Laboratory for Document, Handwriting, Signature, and Banknote Examination, while the accreditation of three additional methods across two of the Unit’s laboratories is planned by the middle of next year.

The lecture also covered police officer procedures in the event of discovering improvised and standard-issue explosive devices, which is of particular importance for the practical training of future security experts. Through an interactive dialogue, students had the opportunity to ask questions and supplement their knowledge thanks to the lecturer’s extensive professional experience.
