The Solemn Academy was held on the occasion of the Day of the Russian Language
The ceremonial academy on the occasion of the Day of the Russian Language was held on June 6 at Banski Dvor, Cultural Center in Banja Luka, organized by the Center for Russian Studies of the Faculty of Philology in Banja Luka, the Russian Cultural Center “Russian Peace” and the Russian House in Belgrade.
The Ambassador of Russia in Bosnia and Herzegovina, Igor Kalabuhov, attended this event. Ambassador Kalabuhov congratulated the Russian people on this holiday, stressing the importance of preserving the beauty of the native language. He highlighted Pushkin as a solid link between the Russian and Serbian people. Namely, this year also celebrates the jubilee – 225 years since the birth of Alexander Pushkin, who is considered the creator of the modern Russian language.
The special guest was the pianist Јulija Kazantseva.
The day of the Russian language is celebrated all over the world precisely on the birthday of the great poet Alexander Pushkin.
Faculty dean prof. Dr. Predrag Ćeranić and expert associate in teaching with foreign students Sandra Čihorić attended the ceremony in front of the Faculty of Security Sciences of the University of Banja Luka.
