University Opened Its Doors to the Prospective Students
The University of Banja Luka Open Day and the Faculty Festival, held on 15 April 2022, gathered around 2,000 secondary school graduates from all over the Republic of Srpska.
During these events, held in the University Sports Hall within the University Campus, the Vice-Rector for Material and Human Resources Prof. Dalibor Kesić, PhD, pointed out that the Open Day and the Faculty Festival are an excellent opportunity for prospective students to get all the useful information about the benefits of studying and about all the capacities of the leading university in the Republic of Srpska.
,,When choosing a faculty, future students should be guided by free education, which is what the University of Banja Luka offers to almost all students who enrol in the first cycle of studiesˮ, Vice-Rector Kesić said.
,,Dear graduates, the knowledge you will gain here will give you the opportunity to work and build the future of our Republic of Srpska, you will have the opportunity to learn from the best at the University of Banja Luka and one day become successful doctors, lawyers, economists, pedagogues, engineers, philologists, artists, who will share the beautiful experience at the University through their knowledge and success wherever they be around the globe”, the vice-rector said and wished the graduates to successfully pass the entrance exams and become students of the University of Banja Luka.
Minister of Scientific and Technological Development, Higher Education and Information Society of the Republic of Srpska Srdjan Rajčević, MA, who attended these events, stated that the enrolment of 2,470 students in the first cycle of studies was approved at the faculties of the University of Banja Luka this year.
Rajčević pointed out that the Ministry supports manifestations like this one and that it wants to encourage the secondary school graduates and prospective students to enrol in some of the faculties within the University of Banja Luka. He also expressed hope that the prospective students could see in one place what suits them both from the aspect of their future profession and from the aspect of what they will be doing for a living in the future.
,,Everything we are doing, enrolment policy this year and next year, is going in the direction of what we call higher education reform, so that we can provide prospective students at our public universities with better higher education and thus better quality of education and the Ministry will certainly continue to go in that direction”, Rajčević said.
President of the University of Banja Luka Students’ Parliament Radovan Jalić, pointed out that this is an opportunity for secondary school graduates to get all the information about our university.
,,After leaving the hall, the guides took the graduates to the faculties, where they had the opportunity to visit all the facilities, to talk to the deans, professors and teaching assistants, but also to future fellow studentsˮ, he stated.
He added that he is sure that the University of Banja Luka is a pillar of young people’s stay in the Republic of Srpska, as well as a pillar of development and prosperity of the Republic of Srpska, and that he believes that in this way we will motivate young people to enrol in the University of Banja Luka. and thereafter to get a job and stay in the Republic of Srpska.
The event in the University Sports Hall was also attended by the deans of the University members, and Vice-Rector for International and Interuniversity Cooperation Prof. Milica Balaban, PhD, and Vice-Rector for Research and Development Prof. Miroslav Malinović, PhD.
The Open Day and the Faculty Festival were organized as part of the largest student event – the University of Banja Luka Student Day.
The University of Banja Luka Students’ Parliament organized the Student Day together with the Union of Students of the Republic of Srpska, with the support of the University of Banja Luka and the Ministry of Scientific and Technological Development, Higher Education and Information Society of the Republic of Srpska.
