University of Banja Luka advanced 1673 places on the Webometrics list
In the past two years, the University of Banja Luka has made 1673 increase at Webometrics Ranking of World Universities rankings.
According to the updated Webometrics report, the University of Banja Luka has progressed 246 places between January and July 2019, and is currently ranked 3161 on the list of world universities and second on the list of universities in Bosnia and Herzegovina. .
As a reminder, according to a July 2017 report, UNIBL was ranked seventh by the BiH universities and ranked 4834 in the world. By the way, the University of Banja Luka has been ranked second in July 2018 when it comes to universities in BiH. From the University of Bosnia and Herzegovina, in front of the University of Banja Luka is the University of Sarajevo.
The first 26 places in the world in the Webometrics rankings are mostly held by US universities. The first is Harvard, which has held that position for years, followed immediately by Stanford University, and is closely followed by the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT). In terms of European universities, the University of Oxford and the University of Cambridge ranked best. As far as universities from Serbia are concerned, the best positions are taken by the University of Belgrade, the University of Novi Sad and the University of Niš.
Otherwise, the Webometrics list is an indicator of the internet visibility, presence, openness and excellence / citation of universities around the world. Webometriks is a world-renowned university ranking list that it develops and updates the Cybermetrics Lab of the Spanish National Research Council twice a year.
The aim of the web indicators used in the Webometrics methodology is to provide a reliable and comprehensive assessment of the global performance of individual universities based on their activities and results present on the Internet. The University’s web position depends on the volume and quality of the accessible and transparent content that the academic institution produces, from highly cited web publications, to all other content that includes reports, conferences, theses, seminars, digital libraries, and other publications of the university and its faculties, departments, researchers and students.
