Biography:

Predrag Ćeranić, PhD, was born on January 1, 1964, in Crkvica, Municipality of Zenica, Bosnia and Herzegovina. He is a citizen of Bosnia and Herzegovina and the Republic of Serbia.

Education: He graduated from the Faculty of Philosophy, University of Sarajevo (Department of Philosophy and Sociology) in 1987, acquiring the title of Professor of Philosophy and Sociology. He defended his master’s thesis titled “Models of Intelligence Service Control” at the Faculty of Law, University of Banja Luka, in 2008, acquiring the title of Master of State and Legal Sciences. He defended his doctoral dissertation titled “Public Policies of Bosnia and Herzegovina in the Field of Security” at the Faculty of Security Studies, University of Belgrade, in 2014, acquiring the title of Doctor of Defense, Security, and Protection Sciences.

Academic and Professional Career: He acquired the title of Assistant Professor (Docent) in the scientific field of Security Sciences in 2016 at the University of Banja Luka. At the same University, he was elected to the title of Associate Professor in April 2021.

Since the establishment of the Faculty of Security Sciences at the University of Banja Luka on March 6, 2017, he has served as the Dean of the Faculty.

Other Activities and Awards: He has been a member of the Association of Writers of Republika Srpska since 1999. To date, he has published eight books in the field of security. For personal bravery demonstrated during the war, he was awarded the Order of Miloš Obilić by the Decree of the President of Republika Srpska in 1993.
