Biography:

Predrag (Draško) Popović was born on December 8, 1984, in Banja Luka. He completed elementary and high school in Kneževo. Attending the “Jovan Dučić” High School Center in Kneževo, he obtained a diploma as a Commercial Technician and was named the Valedictorian (Student of the Generation).

Education: After high school, he enrolled at the College of Internal Affairs in Banja Luka, graduating on June 2, 2007, with a GPA of 8.08, acquiring the title of Graduate Jurist of Internal Affairs. On November 5, 2009, he completed specialist studies in Crisis Management at the Faculty of Security Studies, University of Belgrade, with a GPA of 8.17, acquiring the title of Specialist Vocational Security Manager. He enrolled in master’s studies at the Faculty of Law in Pale in the 2008/09 academic year, defending his master’s thesis titled “The Criminal Offense of Aggravated Theft in the Criminal Law of Republika Srpska” on June 18, 2015. In the 2015/16 academic year, he enrolled in doctoral studies at the Faculty of Law, University of Kragujevac. He defended his doctoral dissertation titled “Strategic and Legal Aspects of Terrorism Control with Special Reference to Bosnia and Herzegovina” on May 8, 2021.

Professional Career: He has been employed since 2007. For the first three years, he worked as a Criminal Investigation Inspector at the Public Security Center Banja Luka. From May 2010, he was employed at the College of Internal Affairs in Banja Luka as a Teaching Assistant for the subjects: Intelligence-Security Operations and Services, Security Systems, and Fundamentals of International Law. He also served as an assistant for General and Security Management and Community Policing. In 2010, he also taught International Criminal Law and Economic Criminalistics at the Faculty of Security and Protection in Banja Luka (Sinergija University, Bijeljina). On April 4, 2013, the University of Banja Luka elected him to the title of Assistant for the scientific field of Security Sciences (subject: Intelligence-Security Operations and Services) for a four-year term. following the transformation of the College of Internal Affairs into the Faculty of Security Sciences, he worked for six months at the Police Training Administration. On September 28, 2017, he established a permanent employment relationship at the University of Banja Luka, Faculty of Security Sciences, where he was elected to the title of Senior Teaching Assistant for the scientific field of Criminalistic Tactics. On July 7, 2022, he was elected to the title of Assistant Professor (Docent) for the scientific field of Criminalistic Tactics, Methodics, and Operations. He teaches Criminalistic Methodics and Criminalistic Operations at the undergraduate level, and Criminalistic-Psychological Profiling at the master’s level. In the 2024/25 academic year, he is also engaged at the Faculty of Law in Banja Luka, teaching Criminalistics.

Other Activities: He has participated in numerous seminars, trainings, round tables, and scientific-professional gatherings of domestic and international significance, publishing a large number of scientific and professional papers in the fields of security, criminalistics, criminology, and criminal law. He has participated in several projects and served on various commissions and working groups. Since 2023, he has been the Security Commissioner for FK BSK (Football Club) Banja Luka, and since 2025, he has been a member of the Cultural and Artistic Society “Mladost” Zalužani. He is married and a father of two children.
